EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, WORLD SPINE CARE

Position: Executive Director
Organization: World Spine Care
Location: Virtual. Preferably in Canada, UK or the US

World Spine Care (WSC) is a multinational not-for-profit, charitable organization founded in 2008 by Scott Haldeman MD, PhD, DC, a well known figure in the assessment and treatment of spinal conditions. He launched WSC to fill the profound gap in the treatment of musculoskeletal and especially spinal conditions found in underserviced areas around the world.

Its Mission is to improve lives in low income communities, through sustainable, integrated, evidence-based, treatment of spinal conditions. Spinal pain has been confirmed as the number one cause of disability worldwide and there is no other program that is attempting to impact this burden.

WSC currently operates seven clinics; three in Botswana, one in each of the Dominican Republic and Ghana and two in India. These clinics provide evidence based, integrated, culturally sensitive care at no or minimal cost to the patient. WSC is registered as a 501c3 or licensed non-profit charity in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

The goal is to expand current cooperative agreements with government agencies and other NGOs and charitable foundations to scale the program to serve larger segments of the population and eventually scale nationwide in countries where WSC has established programs.

In order to achieve these goals and ensure sustainability WSC provides educational conferences and workshops as well as scholarship training opportunities for local clinicians to ensure a consistent and high level of spine care. WSC has an active research program to add to the body of knowledge on spine care and to develop treatment protocols that can be implemented in low income underserved communities to reduce the impact of spine related disability with its associated economic consequences in these communities.

WSC is seeking an effective leader who will apply his or her exceptional business administration, marketing and fundraising acumen to reposition World Spine Care for long term sustainability and scalability. Using their successful revenue generation experience along with their exceptional long-term planning skills, he or she will work with the WSC Boards in the US, UK and Canada and will be the key management leader of World Spine Care. Responsibilities will include overseeing the administration of current programs and strategic plan for expansion and increasing the impact of the organization. Key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. The position reports directly to the Combined Board Executive Committee, which has representation from each of the World Spine Care Boards.

The ideal candidate will have:
• Post Secondary Degree in Public or Business Administration, Marketing
and Fundraising, (preferable but not essential)
• Demonstrated 5 years successful experience as a Senior Executive in at
least two of following service areas: marketing and fundraising; business
administration; transformative change projects within a related field, public
